Rollins Sonny - The Bridge
C'è un periodo nella discografia Sonny Rollins che va dal 1959 al 1962 in cui egli volontariamente ha deciso di non suonare in pubblico. Non esistono registrazioni di questo periodo, eccetto alcune registrazioni amatoriali realizzate durante il suo tour europeo del Marzo 1959. Le sue prime registrazioni dopo questo periodo di silenzio sono state le sessioni realizzate all'inizio del 1962 che hanno prodotto l'album The Bridge. Nell'album Rollins è affiancato da Jim Hall alla chitarra, Bob Cranshaw al contrabbasso e Ben Riley alla batteria. Come bonus di questa nuova edizione è stata aggiunta una versione del brano The Bridge registrata dallo stesso gruppo nel 1962 nel corso del programma televisivo Jazz Casual.
