Famoso per essere il frontman della famosissima band Iron Maiden, Bruce si è dedicato anche ad una strepitosa carriera da solista.Skunkworks fu pubblicato per la prima volta nel 1996 ed in questalbum Bruce si concentrò sullinnovativo sound alt-rock di metà anni novanta, allontanandosi dallheavy tradizionale degli altri album.Prodotto dalla leggenda del rock underground Endino, Skunkworks ha resistito incredibilmente bene al passare del tempo, con un generoso pizzico di immaginari fantascientifici combinati ad un effetto elettrizzante, soprattutto in canzoni come Space Race, Back From The Edge e Inside The Machine.
