Questo LP riunisce alcuni dei migliori brnai tratti dalle prime sessioni in studio di Bill Evans. Alla fine del 1956, a quasi 27 anni, Evans aveva già molte registrazioni alle spalle, tuttavia ha iniziato solo in quel periodo a realizzare le prime registrazioni a suo nome. Fatta eccezione per un brano in piano solo, Waltz For Debby, le altre tracce vedono Evans in trio con Teddy Kotick, Sam Jones o Scott LaFaro al contrabbasso e Paul Motian o Philly Joe Jones alla batteria. Come bonus sono stati aggiunti due brani tratti dalle stesse sessioni, ma non inclusi sullLP originale.
