E dal 1974 che questo titolo del 1970 non veniva reso disponibile in vinile: di scena il grande batterista (nonche formidabile pianista, compositore e bandleader) Jack DeJohnette in un progetto esplosivo. Il gruppo fece faville, sospinto dalla vulcanica batteria del leader, con un fronte di sfondamento delle due chitarre di John Abercrombie e Mick Goodrick (impegnati in un omaggio trasversale a Jimi Hendrix) e con lapporto di due ex collaboratori di Miles Davis avevano entrambi partecipato allincisione dello storico Bitches Brew Dave Holland al contrabbasso e Bennie Maupin al sassofono e clarinetto basso. No, non era proprio smooth jazz.
