Chi avrebbe mai ipotizzato che il duo da lui allestito con la moglie di origini svizzere Christina Moser avrebbe bruscamente sterzato verso la new wave ? Una vera e propria folgorazione artistica, Chinese Restaurant fu registrato tra Londra e Milano nella seconda meta del 77, con l assistenza di Nico Papathanassiou, fratello di Vangelis. Dallo sforzo collettivo derivarono risultati di notevole spessore, in sintonia con Ultravox!, Stranglers e Suicide, sottolineato dalluso delle tastiere e da ritmi ossessivi.
