Con Sleuth, l'attore/autore britannico stupisce e convince grazie alla modernità, l'attualità e la sobrietà del testo trattato, qui rinnovato dal premio Nobel per la letteratura Harold Pinter, che ha accettato immediatamente la proposta di Branagh per lavorare a quest'opera sull'egocentrismo maschile, "la storia di due uomini in una stanza, uno più vecchio e l'altro più giovane, che combattono fisicamente e psicologicamente per una donna che noi non vedremo mai".
