Jack Benteen, un massiccio "ranger" texano, è deciso a far sparire dal paese in cui lavora, non lontano dalla frontiera messicana, la droga che si trova dappertutto. Chi traffica la droga dal Messico è un certo Cash Bailey. Nel frattempo arriva sul posto un commando di sei duri, ex-soldati che risultano ufficialmente morti in Vietnam, a Beirut e nel Laos, ma invece ben vivi e guidati dal violento Maggiore Paul Hackett (un ex-agente della CIA) per una missione che mira anch'essa a scardinare e distruggere i traffici di Cash.
