Norman, commesso in un grande magazzino londinese, è un ragazzo incredibilmente vivace. È innamorato di Sally, impiegata nello stesso magazzino. Per farsi notare, Norman ricorre a una serie incredibile di trovate che di solito finiscono per provocare dei disastri, per i quali viene licenziato. Alcuni di questi però vengono scambiati per geniali trovate pubblicitarie del direttore che deve così riassumerlo. Uno di questi interventi porterà Norman a sventare una rapina.
