Un produttore accetta di aiutare il nipote a girare un film sullo statista inglese del XIX secolo Benjamin Disraeli. Il problema è che può racimolare i soldi necessari solo se trova una star di film d'azione disposta a calarsi nel ruolo. Quando però il tanto agognato attore viene rapito, la produzione viene messa in crisi. Il produttore, insieme a una produttrice esecutiva molto ligia al suo ruolo, si inventa uno spericolato piano per salvare la star e il film.
