Tutto ha inizio la sera della caduta del muro di Berlino, il 9 novembre 1989. Hermann Simon e Clarissa Lichtblau, due musicisti, si incontrano in un albergo. Un tempo sono stati amanti e ora l'amore è sbocciato di nuovo.
