La vita della famiglia Kennedy dal proibizionismo, quando l'emigrato irlandese Joe inizia ad accumulare ricchezza con il traffico delle bevande alcoliche, all'ingresso in politica dei figli John e Robert, assassinati, il primo da Presidente degli Stati Uniti a Dallas nel 1963 e il secondo, da candidato alla presidenza, a Los Angeles nel 1968. L'uno e l'altro si erano fatti molti nemici, fra guerrafondai, malavita organizzata e forze retrive del Paese. E il rapporto della commissione Warren sulla morte di John è tutt'altro che convincente.
