Due giovani ebrei riescono a saltare da un treno in corsa che li portava in un campo di concentramento in Germania. Sfuggiti ai soldati nazisti continuano a correre in un bosco finchè sono vinti dalla fame, dal freddo, dalla fatica. Denunciati da una donna alla quale avevano chiesto del cibo, sono catturati da un gruppo di vecchi armati di fucili da caccia. Spinti sadicamente dagli stessi vecchi, i due giovani riprendono la fuga, mentre i cacciatori li tengono sotto mira e ne fanno dei bersagli.
