Il 25 Novembre del 1976, THE BAND , il leggendario gruppo capeggiato da Robbie Robertson, tenne il suo ultimo concerto al Winterland Ballroom di San Francisco. Più di una dozzina di grandi ospiti parteciparono allevento, tra questi BOB DYLAN (con cui la Band collaborò per anni), NEIL YOUNG, VAN MORRISON, JONI MITCHELL, ERIC CLAPTON, MUDDY WATERS, RINGO STARR, RONNIE WOOD, NEIL DIAMOND e DR.JOHN.Il concerto fu filmato interamente da MARTIN SCORSESE che ne fece un film che uscì nelle sale cinematografiche nel 1978, ancor oggi è considerato uno dei più importanti film concerto della storia.
