Cinquant'anni dopo la performance originale, NEIL YOUNG pubblica il 26 marzo Young Shakespeare, registrazione live mai uscita prima e risalente ad una delle prime esibizioni soliste live di Young. Registrato a Stratford nel 1971, lo show cattura l'artista nella sua essenzialità, chitarra acustica, piano e armonica. Young Shakespeare contiene le prime registrazioni di Old Man, The Needle and the Damage Done, A Man Needs a Maid e Heart Of Gold, presentate qui a più di un anno dall'uscita ufficiale con l'album Harvest del 1972. L'album è disponibile in CD, vinile e Box Set Edition che contiene, oltre al CD e il vinile, il DVD dello show. A soli due mesi di distanza dall'uscita di After the Gold Rush, nel gennaio 1971 Young si è esibito al The Shakespeare Theater di Stratford. Il concerto, originariamente registrato per la televisione tedesca non era poi mai stato pubblicato, fino a oggi. I nastri analogici originali sono stati restaurati con cura rendendo disponibili le prime registrazioni acustiche di due brani di After the Gold Rush, alcuni brani che daranno poi vita a Harvest e alcuni tra quelli che diventeranno i più grandi successi di Young, come Ohio, Cowgirl in the Sand, Helpless, Down by the River e Sugar Mountain. Young Shakespeare è un evento davvero speciale. Penso che per i miei fan sia qualcosa di davvero meraviglioso... Una delle più pure performance acustiche che abbia mai fatto, ha commentato Young.
