Ecco un incontro al vertice: il reinventore del vibrafono jazz, quel meraviglioso musicista che traghetto lo strumento nel mondo del jazz moderno (bebop e oltre) che risponde al nome di Milt Jackson incontrava nel 1961 il grande pianista Oscar Peterson, considerato (in modo piuttosto riduttivo, a dire il vero) come vero erede dello sbalorditivo e inarrivabile Art Tatum. Jackson, per quanto allepoca aduso a dialogare con il laconico John Lewis nel Modern Jazz Quartet, sfodera qui la sua piu vulcanica anima da bopper. Risultato strepitoso, complici gli abituali compagni di avventura di Peterso: Ray Brown al contrabbasso e Ed Thigpen alla batteria.
