Come house band per la leggendaria etichetta Stax hanno affiancato artisti come Otis Redding, William Bell, Rufus & Carla Thomas, Sam & Dave, solo per citarne alcuni. La band comprendeva eccellenti musicisti come il chitarrista Steve Cropper, il bassista Donald "Duck" Dunn, lorganista Booker T. Jones e il trombettista Wayne Jackson.
