Considerato uno dei migliori album di Nathan Davis, e da tempo oggetto di collezionismo, The Hip Walk e stato registrato nel 1965, un periodo in cui l\'afroamericano Davis viveva in Europa, lavorando con leggende come Kenny Clarke, Art Blakey, Ray Charles, Dexter Gordon, Eric Dolphy e Woody Shaw.
