Davis Miles - The Original Quintet (First Recording)
Il Miles Davis Quintet, fondato nel 1955, ampiamente considerato come una delle pi grandi formazioni della storia del jazz. Tutti i suoi membri erano musicisti straordinari che avrebbero potuto facilmente essere leader. Il quintetto vede Philly Joe alla batteria, Red Garland al pianoforte, John Coltrane al sax, Paul Chambers al contrabbasso e Miles alla tromba. Anche se il gruppo aveva in passato registrato alcuni brani per la Columbia, questa stato il primo album del quintetto ad essere pubblicato. Come bonus, abbiamo aggiunto una traccia registrata dalla stessa formazione (senza Coltrane), a Hackensack, New Jersey, nel 1956.
