The Last Trane rappresenta l\'ultima sessione in studio per Prestige della produttiva relazione discografica tra John Coltrane e Red Garland. Spesso con la partecipazione del trombettista Donald Byrd, i due realizzarono una serie di date nel 1957 e nel \'58 in cui il genio di Coltrane pote essere sentito svilupparsi.
