Ted Poor è un batterista (ma anche pianista e polistrumentista) avventuroso, richiesto da artisti di varia estrazione (Bill Frisell, Pat Metheny, Mark Turner e anche da Andrew Bird, suo amico da lungo tempo nonché ospite in questa incisione). Nel 2018, Ted ha firmato per letichetta New Deal (del gruppo Verve) e YOU ALREADY KNOW è il suo album di debutto su etichetta impulse! Un album di grande jazz contemporaneo senza confini, con un occhio a Ornette Coleman: sono della partita laltosassofonista Andrew DAngelo, il bassista e chitarrista Blake Mills (coproduttore dellalbum), il contrabbassista Paul Kovert e il già citato Andrew Bird al violino.
