Morgan Lee - The Complete Live At Lighthouse (Box 8 Cd) - (CD)

Tre giorni, 12 set. No, non stiamo parlando di tennis, ma del contenuto della prima edizione dell'integrale assoluto dei concerti tenuti tra il 10 e il 12 luglio del 1970 al celebre Lighthouse di Hermosa Beach (guarda di seguito per i dettagli). Di scena il quintetto capeggiato dal grande LEE MORGAN, con Bennie Maupin (sax tenore, flauto e clarinetto basso), Harold Mabern (piano), Jymie Merritt (basso Ampeg) e Mickey Roker (batteria). Già estensivamente pubblicate in un triplo album Blue Note entrato nella storia, quelle due giornate sono ora racchiuse nel cofanetto THE COMPLETE LIVE AT THE LIGHTHOUSE, in box da 8 CD o da 12 LP (a tiratura limitata). Le registrazioni (in tutto 33 tracce!) contengono più di quattro ore di musica travolgente mai udita prima. Entrambi i cofanetti conterranno un libro connuovi contributi di Bennie Maupin, l'ultima intervista rilasciata da Jymie Meritt prima della prematura scomparsa, saggi di Jeffery McMillan (autore di Delightfulee: The Life and Music of Lee Morgan) e Michael Cuscuna, interventi di Jack DeJohnette, Wallace Roney, Nicholas Payton, Charles Tolliver, Eddie Henderson, Dave Douglas, foto rare e inedite di Joel Franklin, Lee Tanner e della famiglia di Morgan. L'audio è stato ripreso dal nastro originale da mezzo pollice da Steve Genewick presso i Capitol Studios, il mastering è stato curato da Kevin Gray di Cohearent Audio e infine il tutto stampato su vinile da 180 grammi presso Record Technology Inc. (RTI) a Camarillo, California. L'edizione in CD è stata curata e supervisionata da Robert Vosgien ai Capitol Studios.
