Questo novembre cadrà il 50esimo anniversario dell'uscita in Nord America dell'album di David Bowie The Man Who Sold The World. Il resto del mondo avrebbe invece aspettato fino ad aprile 1971 per testimoniare l'entrata epocale di Bowie negli anni 70, segnata dall'inizio della collaborazione con il chitarrista Mick Ronson, la quale ha caratterizzato anche classici come Hunky Dory, Ziggy Stardust e Aladdin Sane e dal primo di una serie di album fondamentali che si sono susseguiti fino all'album del 1980 Scary Monster (and Super Creeps).
