Con questo album dedicato alla musica celebrativa gioiosa e solenne la trombettista Alison Balsom rinnova la sua dichiarazione damore per lepoca barocca, da lei stessa definita letà delloro per la tromba.Accanto allesuberante Music for the Royal Fireworks di Handel troviamo lavori di JS Bach, Telemann e Henry Purcell. Questi compositori barocchi conoscevano bene lo strumento per cui stavano scrivendo, afferma Balsom. è di fondamentale importanza per me ricercare il suono che essi stessi avrebbero volute ascoltare, mantenendo come obiettivo lautenticità.
