Con il piano di spingere sull'acceleratore e allontanarsi finalmente dalla città natale, il liceale Tripp costruisce un gigantesco pickup, un Monster Truck assemblato con vecchi pezzi di auto rottamate. Intanto, l'esplosione di un impianto petrolifero della zona, attira in superficie, nell'officina dove Tripp sta lavorando, una misteriosa creatura sotterranea che ama il brivido della velocità e il vano motore delle automobili.
