Golden Sings That Have Been Sung incarna come pochi il gusto folk e country americano degli anni 60 e 70, incrociando anche le sensazioni del revival folk britannico ed i corpi sospesi del post-rock, che proprio negli anni \'90 fece la fortuna dell\'underground della Windy City. Se da una parte sono ancora le palesi di mostri sacri quali Tim Buckley, John Martyn o Bert jansch, dall\'altra si affacciano chiare le manovre di gruppi come Gastr Del Sol (la band che sanci l\'avvento definitivo dei talentuosi David Grubbs e Jim O\' Rourke) e Tortoise, determinanti nella formazione del giovane Walker.
