Lunione di due talenti, il sodalizio che nasce (quasi) per caso: il vincitore di Grammyr Blake Mills, che nel corso della sua carriera ha pubblicato quattro album da solista (lultimo dei quali era Mutable Set, sempre per Verve Forecast) e ha allattivo unattivita di produttore ai massimi livelli, incontra grazie al noto bassista Pino Palladino il prolifico (35 album in dieci anni) ma riservatissimo songwriter, pianista jazz ed artista concettuale Chris Weisman, e scocca la scintilla. Sotto la guida e gi auspici dellamico di lunga data e produttore di lungo corso Joseph Lorge (gia al fianco di uno come Bob Dylan, per fare un solo nome), i due realizzano un album indie il cui frutto piu maturo e rappresentativo e forse Skeleton Is Walking, in cui dalla voce incantatoria di Blake si passa ad un esplosivo finale psichedelico in cui e protagonista la sua chitarra.
