Questo LP ripropone la storica registrazione del 1954 che vede lo straordinario clarinettista Buddy DeFranco affiancato dal quartetto di Oscar Peterson con Herb Ellis alla chitarra, Ray Brown al contrabbasso e Louis Bellson alla batteria. Anche se i sei brani sono tutti standards, DeFranco e Peterson li rileggono con inventiva e originalità impareggiabili, supportati inoltre da una tecnica e da un virtuosismo ancora oggi difficile da eguagliare.
