A vent'anni esatti dalla sua rocambolesca fuga dalla Scozia con sedicimila sterline nella borsa, Mark Renton si ripresenta a Edinburgo e al cospetto dei vecchi amici, Simon "Sick Boy" e Daniel "Spud".
