Dopo quasi quarantanni, è tempo di riconoscere al trio VIOLENT FEMMES un ruolo di primo piano nel panorama arrabbiato di quei tempi. La band di Milwaukee (il cantante e chitarrista Gordon Gano, il bassista Brian Ritchie ed il batterista Victor DeLorenzo) non incontrò al suo esordio un vero successo commerciale nonostante fosse stata una scoperta (letteralmente fatta per strada) di James Honeyman-Scott dei Pretenders ma questalbum del 1991 ha rappresentato una sorta di rito di passaggio per generazioni a seguire.
