Prodigioso, prolifico ed istintivamente ribelle, Jørgen Munkeby è la mente creativa dietro al progetto jazz-metal dei leggendari guerrieri norvegesi Shining. Attiva nella scena underground nordica dal 1999, la band iniziò come ensemble di acoustic jazz prima di mutare la propria direzione seguendo la schizofrenia sonora del leader. Animal è lultima creazione di Munkeby, un party metal per il 21 secolo, 10 taglienti composizioni in cui il suono industrial si fonde al sassofono in clima free: è indiscutibilmente un album degli Shining ma allo stesso tempo è sorprendente con groove ed atmosfere che richiamano Black Sabbath e Queen! Animal sarà sicuramente una grossa sorpresa per i fan della band, un album più proiettato verso il rocknroll, composto prevalentemente da Munkeby insieme al nuovo bassista degli Shining Ole Vistnes.
