Prince Estate e Legacy Recordings, divisione Catalogo di Sony Music Entertainment, sono lieti di annunciare il secondo round di pubblicazioni del catalogo diPrince che si intitola Ultimate Rave. Disponibile dal 26 aprile, questa collection in tre parti della musica dance del nuovo millennio intitolata Ultimate Rave include il CD del 1999 Rave Un2 the Joy Fantastic, la versione remix del 2001 Rave In2 the Joy Fantastic oltre ad un DVD contenente la versione integrale del Rave Un2 the Year 2000, la festa epica organizzata da Prince nel 1999, originariamente messa in onda solo in pay-per-view su richiesta.Rave Un2 the Joy Fantastic e Rave In2 the Joy Fantastic saranno disponibili anche in vinile alta qualità, in edizione limitata e di colore viola, di cui la versione remix Rave In2 the Joy Fantastic stampato su vinile per prima volta in assoluto. La prima parte, Rave Un2 the Joy Fantastic, fu l'unico album pubblicato per NPG/Arista (e l'ultimo pubblicato con l'impronunciabile appellativo di "Love Symbol") e mostrava la maestria di Prince sia nell'ambito Pop che R&B attraverso una varietà di tracce e una sorprendente gamma di ospiti, tra cui Chuck D, Eve, Gwen Stefani, Ani DiFranco e Sheryl Crow (Prince collaborò anche al grande successo di Sheryl Crow "Every Day is a Winding Road"). Nel 2001, Prince si era affermato in modo rivoluzionario nel mondo digitale attraverso il suo NPG Music Club, un sito online in cui i fan potevano ascoltare musica inedita oltre ai brani leggendari di Prince e altre rarità. Una delle prime pubblicazioni complete ad operadel NPG Music Club fu infatti Rave In2 the Joy Fantastic, una versione remix e rivisitazione del suo progetto "Rave".Nel 1999, Prince promosse inoltre l'uscita di Rave Un2 the Joy Fantastic con il suo iconico concerto in pay-per-view Prince In Concert: Rave Un2 the Year 2000. Trasmesso a capodanno del 1999, parteciparono in versione di ospiti speciali Morris Day & The Time, Maceo Parker, Larry Graham, George Clinton e Lenny Kravitz. Il DVD di questo concerto è composto da 23 tracce più 4 "bonus groovez". Il live include brani famosi come "Let's Go Crazy", "Purple Rain", "U Got The Look", "Raspberry Beret", "Gett Off" e "Kiss" e version particolari di "She's Always In My Hair, "The Christ" (originariamente The Cross estratto da Sign O 'The Times) e "Nothing Compares 2 U" più I brani tratti da Rave Un2 the Joy Fantastic come "Baby Knows" e "The Greatest Romance Ever Sell".
