A causa della pandemia il festival Festival di Bayreuth 2020 non ha potuto svolgersi tuttavia è stato realizzato un concerto di apertura nella famosa "Haus Wahnfried", la casa in cui visse Richard Wagner durante i suoi anni a Bayreuth.Il direttore musicale del Festival Christian Thielemann e alcuni componenti della Bayreuth Festival Orchestra hanno eseguito lIdillio di Sigfrido e i Wesendonck-Lieder con il soprano finlandese Camilla Nylund.Con questo progetto, Deutsche Grammophon e il Festival di Bayreuth uniscono le forze per creare un fondo di solidarietà che fornisce sostegno finanziario agli artisti che hanno subito una forte diminuzione delle loro entrate a causa della chiusura di teatri d'opera e sale da concerto.
