Gli ARD vengono della Northumbria ed il nome significa "terra nativa" nel dialetto del Regno Angliano di Northumbria. L'album di debutto "Take Up My Bones" di questo progetto solista del musicista Mark Deeks, anche un membro dei WINTERFYLLETH, è un concept sulle leggendarie reliquie del santo Cuthbert (634-687) e al loro lungo viaggio. Con uno schiacciante DOOM METAL dal ritmo glaciale, canti e cori dal suono monastico e melodie dolorose ma epiche, gli ARD hanno trovato l'espressione musicale perfetta per raccontare una storia della loro patria.
